Buloba Water Supply Project

Project Objectives: The project aims to improve water supply to the peri-urban areas of Kampala.

Project Area: Kampala.

Project Cost: Ushs. 5.7 billion.

Funding Agency: NWSC & MoWE

Project Status:

The project entails extension of potable water supply to Buloba and the neighbouring areas and is funded by both NWSC and GoU.Under the project, 10kms of distribution mains is to be extended to Buloba on Kampala-Mityana highway.

The consultant, BEC Engineers carried out a feasibility study, detailed design and tender documents for the construction of water distribution mains, reservoir and booster pump station. The final design reports and tender documents were submitted in September 2008. The estimated cost of the project is Ushs 5.7 billion, and it is proposed that Ushs 3.3 billion is MoWE Contribution .The Project design have been finalized, awaiting supplementary funding from the Ministry of Water and Environment for construction works to commence.
