Water in city to be cut-off for 24 hours.
(The New Vision, Monday, 18 December, 2008)

By Flavia Nakagwa

Water supply in most of Kampala suburbs will be interrupted today for about 24 hours, Eng. Harrison Mutikanga, the Kampala Water chief, has said.

According to a press statement, Mutikanga said the interruption was to enable maintenance works at Gaba water works be carried out effectively. He advised residents to store enough water and use it sparingly until the works are completed.

The organisation’s public relations officer, Gloria Namugera, said Naguru and the city centre would be the areas least affected by the interruption.

She added that they had received new equipment from Germany, which they would install in order to ensure reliable water supply in the city.
