THE National
Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) overall coverage in large towns
has increased to 72%, the water minister, has said.
Maria Mutagamba also disclosed that the total number of water connections had hit 198,177 in March.
“The urban water sub-sector goal and target is sustainable safe water
supply and sanitation facilities based on management responsibility and
ownership by the users,” the minister said.
She was addressing the South African water official and legislators last week.
She said the commercialisation and the use of the private sector had
improved efficiency, cutting on operation costs. |
