UBA signs partnership agreement with URA, NWSC.

In a bid to widen their scope and enable customers do all their transactions under one roof, United Bank for Africa (UBA) has signed, partnership agreements with Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC).
UBA joins a list of other commercial banks including; Stanbic, Barclays, Diamond Trust and Standard Chartered through which customers can do their banking services and pay utility bills like water and electricity.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Kampala on Monday, URA's Assistant Commissioner for Finance Edna Rugumayo said e-tax through United Bank for Africa will be available for large and medium domestic tax payers in Kampala East for the start and is expected to be expanded to include customs payments by June.
UBA's Managing Director Margaret Mwanakatwe said the partnership would make it easy for the bank's customers and the general public to pay taxes in time. "We want to make sure that our customers get an easy life while making payments” she said.
