- The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is implementing the Kampala Water-Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation Project (KW-LVWATSAN) with financial support from the German Government via KfW Entwicklungsbank, Agence Française de Développement (AFD), European Union Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund (EU-ITF), European Investment Bank (EIB), and the Government of Uganda (GoU).
2. The National Water and Sewerage Corporation now invites experienced contractors to submit their filled
and extended Pre-Qualification Documents for the construction of the following works under this Project:
Type of contract: Construction of a primary water distribution system comprised of 70km of new pipelines of
sizes up to DN 1400mm DI, water storage reservoirs/tanks, booster stations, electromechanical
and SCADA components in the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area.
Name of project: KW – LV WatSan Project Package 2b: Rehabilitation, Restructuring, Rezoning and the
Extension of Greater Kampala Metropolitan Water Supply Network (Phase 1) – Construction of
Location: Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA): Kampala City, Wakiso District and Mukono
District (all in Uganda)
Envisaged Scope of Works:
i. Supply, laying, testing and commissioning of approximately 70km of new pipelines of sizes up to DN
ii. Construction of water storage reservoirs.
iii. Construction of booster stations, including supply, installation, testing and commissioning of
electromechanical equipment, transformers and diesel generators.
iv. Supply and installation of SCADA system.
Construction period: 30 calendar months
Defect Notification period: 12 calendar months
