Dr. Judith Tumusiime Tukahirwa is the Deputy Executive Director, Kampala Capital City Authority. She holds a BSc Education Biology and Chemistry Makerere University, MSc Environment and Natural Resources, Makerere University Institute of Environment and Natural Resources and a PhD Urban Sanitation and Solid Waste Management from the Environmental Policy Group, Wageningen University, Netherlands. She is also an Alumnus of Harvard University, John F Kennedy School of Government where she undertook Executive Education on Driving Government Performance: Leadership Strategies that Produce Results and Public-Private Partnerships in Infrastructure. She is a results driven and resourceful leader with proven ability in developing and strengthening multi-disciplinary management teams to maximize institutional effectiveness and efficiency. She has developed expertise and vast experience in; Sanitation and Solid Waste Management, Environmental health and social dynamics of urban systems, City planning and Infrastructure development, Project planning and Management, Institutional Strategic planning, Resource mobilization, Policy formulation, advocacy and implementation, Gender mainstreaming, Research and Capacity building. She has vast experience working as a consultant, director, manager, and team leader for different institutions, projects, and funding agencies operating at multiple scales especially in Africa. She has been involved in a number of research activities coupled with publications in renowned international Journals. She has exhibited unique and sustained endurance in engaging local and regional decision makers including development partners to streamline and accelerate sustainable development with integration of social equity and gender sensitive delivery of services.
