National Water and Sewerage Corporation is a participatory environmental conservation corporation offering environmental friendly services for the benefit of the general public.
Our core belief is that we can improve the quality of life of the community through management and conservation of the environment and by ensuring that the natural environment is used wisely and continues to be available for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations.
NWSC is almost perfecting the art of ensuring that sewerage is confined in one place and not spread all over in the open, seeing as sewage contains heavy metals and disease pathogens such as Seeing as sewage contains not only heavy metals and disease pathogens such as Clostridium difficile (which happens to be responsible for a type of widespread infectious diarrhoea).
This we have done by building sewerage plants where sewerage is dumped and better still treated. This is also helps in the suppression of the health hazards affiliated to the ozone pollution all over the globe.
The best time to plant a tree was 25 years ago, but we believe that the next best time is today and now, that is why NWSC has taken the initiative of planting trees in various towns in Uganda. Some of these towns may include Entebbe, Kisoro.
NWSC has also made an effort to better the soils of the land by providing "sludge". Sludge is the residual, semi-solid material left from industrial wastewater, or sewage treatment processes as of this case. It happens to be an exceptional fertilizer which NWSC sells to farmers.
